Data requests
How to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you.
Under UK data protection law you are in control of your personal information. This page explains how to use your rights with Stitchwork Studios. For what we collect and why, read our Privacy policy.
What you can ask for
- a copy of the personal information we hold about you,
- corrections to anything that is wrong,
- deletion of your account and your information,
- us to restrict or stop using your information in a particular way, and
- your information in a format you can take elsewhere.
How to ask
- Open our Contact page.
- Write “Data request” in the subject.
- Tell us what you want: a copy, a correction, or deletion.
- Use the email address of your account, or tell us which email address you signed up with.
You do not need to give a reason. It is free to ask.
What happens next
We may reply to the email address on your account to check it is really you. We do this to avoid giving your information to someone else. We will answer within one month. If your request is complicated we may need up to two more months, and we will tell you why.
Deleting your account
If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information, including your account, your playtest application and any votes or messages tied to your details. We may keep something only if the law requires it, and if so we will tell you what and why. Information that cannot be linked to you, such as anonymous visit counts, is not affected.
You can also see and change your own details on your account page while you are signed in.
If you are not happy
Please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
